More than 1,000 people line Byron Center street as body of Air Force Staff Sgt. Joe Weems comes home
Traffic came to a standstill in Byron Center on Monday evening as more than 1,000 community members lined 84th Street to honor the memory of Air Force Staff Sgt. Joseph Weems, whose body was returned home on the same day he was scheduled to end his six-year career with the military.

Remains of Mich. airman killed in German returned
BYRON CENTER, Mich. (AP) - The body of an airman killed in a bike-train accident in Germany has been returned to western Michigan. Ramstein Air Base says that Staff Sgt. Joseph Weems was killed last week when a train struck him as he biked several miles from the base.
