Allen Park man surrenders to police after hours-long standoff

A man who kept police at bay for hours Sunday after his wife was shot at their Allen Park home surrendered after what neighbors said appeared to be tear gas was fired into the home. Police had been urging the man to come out; he surrendered just after 8 p.m., said Allen Park Police Lt. Chris Egan.
