Westborough Youth Football and Cheer Information Session and Registration:
The Westborough Youth Football and Cheer (WYFC) will hold an information session on June 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Forbes gym. Parents and players are welcome to stop in to learn more about the program and meet some of the board members and coaches for both football and cheerleading.

Algonquin 12, Westborough 4: Tomahawks take care of business
In the midst if a stretch of five straight road games that includes some of the best teams in Massachusetts, the Algonquin boys lacrosse team made sure not to overlook rival Westborough yesterday. The Tomahawks edged perennial Western Mass. power Longmeadow in overtime last Saturday, and travel to EMass power Hingham this Saturday, but in the middle were the Rangers.

Former Shrewsbury doctor accused of forging prescriptions
The state’s Board of Registration in Medicine yesterday suspended the license of a former Shrewsbury physician accused of using fake prescriptions to obtain drugs in stores in Framingham and Westborough last year.

Westborough schools boost drug testing
The School Department can now use an oral swab test if a student is suspected of being under the influence of drugs. The practice, approved unanimously by the School Committee this week, would only be used after the student is examined by the school nurse and also agrees to take the test, Westborough High School Principal John Smith said.
