Fall River wants stricter discharge permit rules for Weaver's Cove
While the threat of a liquefied natural gas terminal came off the table last year, the city, through its longtime consulting lawyer, told federal and state officials Wednesday night its permit guidelines for discharging stormwater into the Taunton River are “insufficient and not strict enough.”

Fall River native will have new destroyer named in his honor

National Guard member Donald Reis, Fall River native, dies of cancer

Fall River man honored at Workers Memorial Day event
Family members, union representatives and friends stood on the Statehouse steps Thursday at noon and read the names of 58 Massachusetts workers killed on the job in 2011. One of them was Daniel Callazo, 28, of Fall River, who died after his hand was caught in a food grinder at Tribe Mediterranean Foods Inc., in the Myles Standish Industrial Park in Taunton.
