Frostburg firefighters primed for move into new station
The Frostburg Volunteer Fire Department is expected to move into its new station during the first week of June, and an open house is being planned for later this summer so that the public can take a look around.

Frostburg State gets go-ahead for doctoral program
Frostburg State University has received final approval to offer a doctor of education in educational leadership, with the first students to begin studies in the fall. This applied doctoral program is FSU’s first, the culmination of more than three years of work by the FSU faculty and administration.

FROSTBURG — Allegany’s softball team finished with four hits Wednesday during the Maryland 1A West Section finals against Mountain Ridge. Mountain Ridge’s Carlie Lewis was credited with a no-hitter, and did have one going into the fifth inning, but allowed four singles in a complete game shutout.
