The man injured during an apparent drive-by shooting early Sunday morning in Independence will survive. Police said the man, who was not identified, was the victim of a random drive-by shooting in northwest Independence early Sunday morning.

Drive-by shooting injures Independence person

A person was injured in what appears to be a random drive-by shooting in northwest Independence early Sunday morning. Independence Police began getting reports about 1:13 a.m about a suspicious vehicle driving around the northwest area, and callers said they heard what appeared to be gunfire.
