Housing sales climb in Kansas City and nation
The Kansas City housing market continued to improve in April, with sales of new and existing homes up a combined 11 percent from a year ago and the average sales price for existing homes up 9 percent to $149,610.

Buckeye property sold for $7.4 million; 3,900 homes planned
Colliers International in Phoenix negotiated the sale of 2,389 acres northeast of Sun Valley Parkway and Thomas Road in Buckeye for $7.4 million, or $3,089 per acre.

Bust of gang offers hope for Dodge City immigrants
Jose Aguilar is like so many immigrant workers in Dodge City, Kan., who provide easy prey for American-born-and-bred Latino gang bangers. That may be changing. The message from the Dodge City police chief that even immigrants in the country illegally should call for help — “we want to protect them from crime, and that’s it” — seems to be getting through.

Houses Selling Quicker in Metro
While the Omaha-metro's housing market never suffered the same kinds of blows as other areas, things were much slower this time last year. The latest figures show homes are on the market about 49 days, which is nearly half as long as it took to make a sale last spring.
