Council commends police officers
PRINCETON — Two Princeton Police officers have been honored by the Princeton City Council. At this week’s council meeting, Princeton Police Chief Tom Root presented an “Above and Beyond” recognition plaque to Sgt. Ben Atkinson for his academic achievements in the law enforcement field.

Manteno Panthers defense preys on Princeton in 1A soccer Supersectional
The through ball just never came through. And with the supply line to its offensive firepower essentially cut off by a stubborn Manteno defense, the Princeton girls soccer team saw its season come to an end Tuesday with a 3-1 loss to the Panthers in the Class 1A Urbana Supersectional.

Wednesday's prep soccer: Princeton advances at Orion
Illinois Valley Central ended its soccer season with a 1-0 defeat to Rock Island Alleman in Wednesday’s Class 1A Orion Regional semifinal. Princeton, however, continued its spring campaign. The Tigers face Alleman (8-11-1) in Friday’s 5:30 p.m. title match after beating Orion/Sherrard, 7-0 in the other semifinal.
