 Moultrie Healthcare jumped out to a 9-0 lead and had to hold off Fuller’s Fried Chicken to take a 9-7 victory on Monday that clinched the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department Junior girls league championship.

Colquitt County Hall of Famer Billy Davis dies

In 1944, Moultrie High football coach Grant Gillis installed the T-formation and had his eye on a young player who could both run and throw the football. Billy Davis wasn’t necessarily thrilled with the job at first.

Davis Insurance downs Southwest Georgia Bank in Midget League

Tournament championship pairings set

Hutchinson-Traylor will face Southwest Georgia Bank for the Midget League tournament championship and Paradise Pool and Patio will meet Southwest Georgia Bank in the Farm League title game, with both games scheduled for tonight at the Magnolia Sports Complex. Both games will be played at 6 p.m.

Colquitt facing new heat guidelines

 There were several days during Colquitt County’s recently completed spring practice that were not exactly spring-like. Temperatures reached the 90s and the heat made the drills feel more like those in August. This year, come August and September, the Packers might not be on the practice field when the temperatures reach similar highs.
