Airman 1st Class John R. Stephen graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He earned distinction as an honor graduate. Stephen is the son of Roma Stephen of Lakeland. The airman is a 2005 graduate of Lakeland High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2009 from the University of Florida.
