Early case of WNV is possible in Sanger
A 72-year-old Sanger man said he was diagnosed with West Nile Virus (WNV)during a hospital stay this month, a finding that if confirmed would be the earliest in the year the disease ever has appeared in California.

Herald writer finishes second for prestigious journalism award

Sanger man busted for growing pot
Herald staff report A Sanger man, 27-year-old Arcelio Serrano-Zepeda, seven Cutler-Orosi residents and a Modesto man have pleaded guilty to charges in federal court of growing huge amounts of marijuana at sites on both public and private lands.

New school administrators named
Amy Williams will replace Brad Huebert as principal at Quail Lake Environmental Charter School and Johnny Gonzalez will replace Mike Hernandez as assistant principal at Sanger High School at the end of this school year.

Clovis West sweeps Central Section swimming titles
Clovis West once again swam away from the field at the Central Section Championships. The Golden Eagles girls team won its 16th straight title, and the boys team won its 14th straight section title with 499 points.
